Norma and Boyd are enjoyable. I never read the Fixed series so I don't really know whether or not it compliments it. It's great on it's own though.
I adore how Norma struggled to find and accept Boyd's place in her life. It's definitely a worthwhile journey.
My only complaint is with a tiny aspect of the epilogue. There is a tokenism to it that makes my skin itch. I think the story could have done without it or atleast have it handled better by making the story longer.
