The Unlikely Voyage of Jack De Crow: A Mirror Odyssey from North Wales to the Black Sea by A.J. Mackinnon
4.0
People frequently astonish me, but few more than Sandy McKinnon, who sailed/rowed his tiny Mirror dinghy from North Wales to the Black Sea.
Why, you ask? Because he could.
He closely documents this epic voyage with much affection for the many kindnesses of strangers he encounters, and plenty of laughs for some extraordinary situations he finds himself in.
It really is a remarkable journey, but one I'm very aware could only be undertaken in this form by a man - a woman alone is always at far too much risk from the less kind strangers.
However, this is absolutely a very jolly read - if just a tiny bit long on descriptors at times.
