Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card

I'm usually able to separate the art from the artist like I'm still a pretty big Harry Potter fan even though I staunchly disagree with her shitty Twitter takes. I also love me some Lovecraft, even though he was Xenophobic White Supremacist. But with Card, his philosophy is baked into these books. Like how all of the children are psychotic, except the women because of several bad evolutionary bad deals. Or how there aren't too many girls in flight school because, "it's too much for them." I don't know about the other books, since I have no plans of reading them, but I've heard stories about them. Ender is also one of the most Mary Sue, self-insert characters that I have ever read. Ender is rash and that is his only flaw. This is writing 101, but what obstacle does he overcome in order to grow? Accidentally killing a kid? There are also several lines in this book that are just flat-out creepy, like when Peter talks about his and his SISTER's pubic hairs. Orson, what the actual fuck?
