Yesterday Is History by Kosoko Jackson

3.0

Following Dre's journey from ordinary guy in need of a new liver to time traveller in love with two guys, one in 1969 and one today was interesting. At times it was really interesting, as he struggled to understand what was going on and how he was able to make these jumps, while at other times the history and rules about time travel felt a little messy. I also didn't quite connect with either Michael or Blake, and buying that Dre is in love with both is critical to understanding his dilemma. Dre is very self-centered (possibly understandable because of his cancer and need for the liver), but his confusion is real, as are his comments to Blake and Michael about how to respond in certain situations (the snark was real and I could hear myself saying the same things.
