Fool Moon by Jim Butcher

2.5

It was alright. Not as exciting as book 1, or as "smart" in terms of wrapping its plot together. Characters are also slightly worse. Ending was a bit messy with too many characters with little to do. Spoilers, but that final scene with Murph was absolutely horrendous. Just the worst of fake Murph drama that was also present in book 1. Didn't hate it, but didn't too much like it either.

In terms of vocalizing my dislike for Murphy, I think its as much a character as much as a ideological difference. I think built into her is the worst of the police entitlement, that she sees herself as a bit more important than everyone, that what she's doing is right simply because she's a cop. A license for entitlement. She will continuously push Dresden away from stuff, saying that this is a "bust" and she has a "right" to be there which betrays this attitude. But then, she's inconsistent with it too. Like at the beginning when the FBI pushes her off the scene considering it was cross-jurisdiction. She's adherent to legal and role based arguments until they go against her wants.

My feeling about Dresden stand from Storm Front. Also, can a woman other than Murph (or his mom, I guess) be in the story without a mention of their sexy legs or voluptuous boobs.
