this book deserves more than the five stars i’m able to give it. wilkerson shook my soul with this novel; the twists and turns, the uncertainty, the determination and love that was woven throughout this book and its characters truly have me speechless. as a descendent of caribbean ancestors, my heart was pulled in even more directions. this piece was just phenomenal.
