A deeply humanizing and important depiction of the migrant experience. Every person, every “estadounidense” should read this story. I love Lydia, and her story of motherly heroism is unfathomable and also deeply believable. Completely engrossing, heart wrenching, and reverent.
Graphic: Violence, Gun violence, Trafficking, Physical abuse, and Sexual violence
Moderate: Rape
