Three-Martini Afternoons at the Ritz: The Rebellion of Sylvia Plath and Anne Sexton by Gail Crowther

Coming into this book I knew a good deal about Sylvia Plath, but only had name recognition of Anne Sexton. I felt a little let down that the two women only knew each other so briefly. The focus of the book wasn't really about their friendship so I think that may have been a marketing error. That being said, their lives did have many parallels so it was interesting following their paths and their defiance of social norms in the era just before the women's empowerment movement. I didn't' really enjoy the authors writing, but did enjoy learning more about Plath and learning anything about Sexton.
