I was hesitant about reading a football romance novel but I knew it had to be good when it's written by Ana Huang. I was not disappointed.

I especially loved the fact that this book was really centered around emotional connections and building a base for the series. The plot made me feel closely for the characters and who does not love some grand gestures?

In terms of emotions: I loved the vulnerability and rawness displayed in Asher and Scarlett. Envy, guilt and all the true colors of the darkest corners in our minds. It felt refreshing and real to read their story and emotions unfold in this book.

This start to the series felt amazing and I can truly recommend it. The only reason why it's 4 Stars for me is because it took me a while to get into the book and sometimes it felt like less would've been more. However this is only my personal opinion and it does not make the book any less amazing.
