The Spanish Love Deception, by Elena Armas

5.0

I hate every minute I spent sleeping on this book. It's been on my TBR for at least 8 months. ALL THE TIME AARON AND I COULD HAVE HAD TOGETHER. But we're here now.

There were so many swoon worthy moments - and I don't hand out those feelings frivolously.
Showing up in Spain, speaking fluent Spanish with her parents?! 10/10.
When he hears her ask for 3 tacos, convinces her to honestly ask for 4, and shows up with 5? 10/10.
Smuggling donuts after hours to surprise her? 10/10.
Aaron Blackford, everyone. A man after my own heart.

The catalyst for the 3rd act breakup felt a little ... weak in my opinion, but the book was such utter perfection I don't even care. I've convinced myself it worked and I'm happy to stick to that story.

Fake dating? ✔️
Office romance? ✔️
Grumpy/Sunshine? ✔️
Witty Banter? ✔️
Boy falls first? ✔️

Just when I had started to convince myself I needed a little brain break from romcoms, Elena Armas has won my entire heart and now I'm forced to continue to search for another hit this good. But she has a new release coming very soon, so maybe I won't have to try too hard to find it.
