Sherwood by Meagan Spooner

It had potential.

But the author copy&pasted beauty's character from Hunted and I think it worked for Marian. The romance with guy was forced and made me gag. I hated every second of it and wished that the author had just left it out.

The entire first half of the book leads you to believe that Marian loved Robin romantically. The reveal that it was platonic felt unnecessary and it ruined the book for me. She could have accomplished Marian's feelings being trapped by gender roles without changing Marian's feelings. It just felt like the change was made purely for the relationship with guy and that made it so much worse. I would have much preferred if Marian had not had a love interest. It was better off without it.
