The Dragon's Queen by Michelle M. Pillow

4.0

Mede is the only female dragon shifter on Draig and wants to be thought of as more than just a marriageable female. She wants to be viewed as an equal. As a show of her opposition to marriage, she smashed her own crystal so that she could control her own life. Llyr, the future Draig king, loves Mede and knows she's his mate but he doesn't want her to know until they know one another on a deeper level. There are plenty of challenges and threats throughout the story with just the right amount of hot and steamy action. Enjoyed some of the characters who come into play in later stories - Attor, Myrddin. I enjoyed reading this but wish I had started out reading this one first- it's the ninth book in the series yet it's the prequel to the other eight and there are things that would have felt clearer if I'd read this one first.
