I bought this book for a dollar at a thrift store because i'd heard so much about it, but wasn't really expecting to like it since i'm not really a fan of fantasy books. I was pleasantly surprised by how down to earth the book was, especially as a novel based on a myth and gods. the epic and the magic within it doesn't seem fantastical, but a facet of a(n almost) human, very earthly experiencing of life and all it's pains and ills and joys. I truly enjoyed this book and am excited for her future books and to read her other publications!
