Ancillary Justice by Ann Leckie

Such an interesting book.
Not only an interesting and compelling plot - but the story is also written from the perspective of an AI, in a culture that doesn't have strict definitions of gender. Everyone in the book is referred to as "she" in almost all cases. At first I found myself struggling semi-conciously to try to match a gender to the character to view them through, but overtime that started mattering less and less until it reached the point where gender really didn't matter for the story and the interactions. Really played with my perspective on things.
