I really appreciated how this book handled grief, and I related to Clementine in that regard. That was definitely the highlight for me.
When it came to the romance, though, it felt more like two lonely people seeking comfort rather than a genuine love story. I would have preferred seeing their present-day romance develop with some glimpses into their past, rather than the somewhat disjointed portrayal we got of a tortured character and a love that felt a bit unclear.
I’m giving it three stars because I liked the portrayal of grief, and while the romance wasn’t perfect, it wasn’t too bad either. (I finished this an hour ago so maybe will change it to 2.75 later)
