Miss del Río: A Novel of Dolores del Río, the First Major Latina Star in Hollywood by Bárbara Mujica

5.0

I probably rate most books high but I loved this book. I dreamt about it. I cried with it. I married into a Mexican family and I like to think that because of my Grandmas and their glamour in my eyes, one from Germany, one a New Yorker Puerto Rican, they both gave me some insight into the culture of the past. I consider myself an old soul and love the stories of the old celebrities. I named my daughter Marlena after Marlena Dietrich. This book brought me back to all of this. Such a beautiful fiction based on a very real person. I loved the story and the interaction and the reality.
Thank you Bárbara
