King of the Court by R.S. Grey

Pretty sweet and low drama read, surprising given the unexpected conflict. Raelynn was a lovely heroine- hardworking, kind, thoughtful, resilient and patient. And her relationship with Ben was super sweet. He’s a pretty good guy- not the typical athlete hero. Their connection felt authentic- and I loved their emotional maturity with each other. I enjoyed them together- even though the twist felt a bit unexpected and not my favorite plot trope. Because of it, I expected a bit more angst and drama, but these two were just very stable and steady. I loved the couple- though I did find parts of this to move a bit slowly for me. Solid introduction to RS Grey- though since this particular trope isn’t my favorite, I think I may enjoy some of the backlist a bit more.
