Vampires, Hearts, & Other Dead Things by Margie Fuston

2.0

Sigh. I was actually enjoying this look at what it truly means to be alive while being consumed with grief and mourning. It was a little overwrought and had an awful lot going on, but life is often overwrought with a lot going on. It is about a teenager whose father is dying and who absolutely isolated herself from all her friends and peers while that was happening. I lost all respect I had for the book when
Spoileran actual vampire really showed up for like 5 pages not strengthening the lesson Victoria had already learned about eternity, life, and immortality in any way but just being a jerk because he could. It added nothing and took away quite a bit.
