I found the mystery investigation elements less interesting that the previous book, but I was so emotionally invested in Caleb figuring out how to express his emotions. This made it a very compelling, almost all in one sitting read for me. I cried a couple times. In the next book I really hope things work out for him relationally with Kat because I really like her, but she's right and she can't fix him but I want them to be happy and together. Also hope things work out with his brother.
Moderate: Panic attacks/disorders and Violence
Minor: Drug abuse
Ableism and Racism - Caleb is Deaf, and Kat is Aboriginal so they each experience quite a bit of bigotry, it is challenged -sometimes directly, sometimes in the narrations. Impact is clearly demonstrated.
