Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoevsky

5.0

After hitting my goal to read 25 books in 2022 by early July, I decided to go after something a little denser and substantial than the noir/genre stuff that made up a lot of what I’d read so far this year. It took longer than expected, I got Covid in mid July which made me useless for a week or two and soon after I picked up a freelance writing job that started to occupy a lot of the time I’d previously used for reading.

Anyways this book obviously is very good, I didn’t know what to expect going into it, but definitely wasn’t anticipating it being one of those “annoying person who is full of shit talks at you in unbroken multi-page paragraphs” deals. In conclusion I agree with the book’s thesis that it’s probably best for every brainy 23 year old guy to be locked up until he calms down and is in his 30s.
