When Will There Be Good News? by Kate Atkinson

5.0

Loved this. It's the third in her Jackson Brodie series--they are classed as general novels but are essentially mysteries, he's an ex-police private investigator. Case Histories was the first, and that was great; One Good Turn, the second one, was a disappointment. Unfortunately you really have to have read both to get the full enjoyment of this one, but it's worth it--this was a fantastic book. Much tighter than either of the other two, and even more literary as well, which is saying kind of a lot. Also quite the page-turner.
