Bloodfire by Helen Harper

1.0

I rarely give anything 1 star. I usually just quit reading books I absolutely hate. I started to give this one 2 stars just because I actually finished it, but then I thought back and couldn't remember anything I really liked about it. I thought the main character was kind of unlikable, and kind of dense. So she's a "human" living among shifters, which is illegal in the shifter world. Although, she is as strong, if not stronger, and as skilled, if not more so, than others in her "pack". She's a better hunter and tracker than most of them, and can hear her "alpha's" voice telepathically, which is impossible for humans. Yet, she never questions any of this.
Also, as the main plot point of the book, her alpha is killed and all these other-worldly creatures start to attack her pack and she's all like "Why this pack? What is different about this pack?" Um, how about the super strong human they are harboring? That's different from other packs, right?
A lot of questions about her origin and other happenings in the book are left unanswered, which I get may be answered in subsequent books throughout the series, however, after this 1st book, I have no desire read the rest.
