This was a witchy retelling of Mr. & Mrs. Smith, so I thought I was going to like this a lot more than I did. However, it just felt very “meh” to me.
As far as witch vs. witch hunter romances go, I’ve read better. (Serpent and Dove comes to mind) I wanted a bit more tension / emphasis on the “enemies” aspect of the enemies to lovers dynamic. I felt that Savvy and Griffin forgave each other way too fast after they realized they’ve been lying to each other about their entire lives.
I did enjoy the spy aspect, though. I would love to read more witchy spy novels in the future.
