Investigating the Body in the Victorian Asylum: Doctors, Patients, and Practices (Mental Health in Historical Perspective) by Jennifer Wallis

3.0

This book was extremely well written, and there was clearly a lot of research put into it, but the level of detail it went into was personally too much for me. That's definitely not the fault of the author, as she includes tons of sources and further research, so possibly if I was more well versed in medical non-fiction, I would've got more out of it. I'll definitely try to pick up more non-fiction in this style, but unfortunately, this was not the best place to start for me. Probably more of 3.5*
