Up All Night: 13 Stories Between Sunset and Sunrise by Laura Silverman

3.75

Anthologies are always interesting to read because each story often varies in quality. Here were my basic ratings for each short story:

Never Have I Ever - 4 stars; I'm such a sucker for those little twists at the end and this story was certainly a good start. However, I wish there was a bit more foreshadowing.

Like Before - 3.5 stars; this story gave off a melancholy sort of feel but I wasn't truly hooked.

Old Rifts and Snowdrifts - 4.5 stars; super cute, romance is always fun to read. very light-hearted

Con Nights, Parallel Hearts - 3 stars; I've always been a huge fan of the concept of parallel universes, but this story didn't quite make its mark.

Kiss the Boy - 4.5 stars; adore two-sided pining, also pretty light-hearted and a fun read

Creature Capture - 4.75 stars; as someone with social anxiety, this definitely hit.

Shark Bait - 2 stars; the ending set me off and although the beginning and middle were good, I felt like the ending made it worse.

A Place to Start - 3.5 stars; this story didn't feel unique and didn't stick out.

When You Bring a Dog to Prom - 4 stars; love love love dogs and the prom night was cute.

Missing - 3 stars; not quite a fan of this one. Although I've been a fan of the author's previous books, I didn't enjoy this one. The paranormal element felt too much.

What About Your Friends - 4.25 stars; Stories with friendships and no romance have always had a spot in my heart and this was the same. Loved the reconnecting.

Under Our Masks - 3.75 stars; didn't enjoy this one too much. I enjoyed the superhero aspect and the romance, I just wasn't a fan of the writing.

The Ghost of Goon Creek - 4.75 stars; I really enjoyed this one, it ended well and both the friendships and the paranormal aspects went well together.

So, the average is 3.8.
