Monster, She Wrote: The Women Who Pioneered Horror and Speculative Fiction by Lisa Kröger, Melanie R. Anderson

4.0

Monster, She Wrote is a useful reference on some of the key women who shaped the gothic, horror, and speculative fiction genres.  Lisa Kroger provides ample information on a wide range of women authors, including modern writers, to look into how they created and shaped genres typically described in the "male sphere". This book combines biographies with "suggested reading" guides that the reader can use to learn more about the women mentioned. I definitely found myself saving books mentioned to build up my fall gothic reading list.

I hope Kroger writes similar books that delves into other topics/genres because I feel that it's much needed!
