This is an absolute love letter to Marvel's founding family, the Fantastic Four. The art by Alex Ross is, unsurprisingly, brilliant as well, with the gorgeous renderings and vibrant, neon colors being both beautiful, and also a perfect homage to retro science-fiction art. Ross moves beyond his more notable, iconic, painterly style and uses a more graphite and emphasized line-work approach, but the result is, nonetheless, astonishing! (and a breath of fresh air for superhero comics). I absolutely hope more characters get their own Alex Ross renditions such as this! This is truly a real treat for sci-fi fans, and Marvel fans alike - my favorite comic of the year! (2022).
