Fading Echoes by Erin Hunter

4.0

Slightly better than the first book, but I still feel like nothing really happened? There were two major events in the whole book - the falling tree in ThunderClan and the end battle. Other than those, the book was pretty slow.

I will say that I felt a lot more in this one than I have for a while in the series.
SpoilerI was really upset when Longtail died. I didn't realize how attached I was to him! Even though he was in the Elder's den and his days were numbered, he wasn't super old. I'm going to miss the blind warrior :( I'm mostly upset on Mousefur's behalf, (who I am quite attached to because she's fiesty AF) who lost her best friend. I worry that she'll die in the next book and I love her!!

Firestar losing a life didn't really affect me this time. Usually I feel something when he loses a life because I know he's that much closer to true death. I still think I'm gonna be fucked up when he dies for real though, which I'm afraid is coming very soon...

I really didn't like the direction that Ivypaw's character took. She's not evil or anything, but it bothers me that she's acting so naive and bringing death into ThunderClan through her naivety. Can the Tigerstar plotline just be done already?! I'm so sick of him *sighs*
