3.5

I read an ARC version of Made to Sin by Vy Le.

Made to Sin follows Katarina, a Mob Wife to the Camello family who is in a loveless and abusive marriage, and Luciano, the Don of the Beneveti family.

I really enjoyed Katarina and Luciano's relationship. There is a lot of banter between the two of them as Katarina can be really sassy, which I always love in FMC. Luciano, of course, is amazing. He's sweet, funny, can be little unhinged.
I'm looking at you gun range scene.
Luciano has that looks like he can kill you (which i mean he can) but is a cinnamon roll vibe. Always love a good cinnamon roll MMC. I think this would be a perfect book if you want to dip your toe into dark romance. It's not as dark as other mafia romances but you still get a feel of what dark romance is.

That being said, I do normally prefer my dark romance to be a bit darker than this book which is why my main complaint is Marco. I personally think he could have been a bit darker. Some of the things he does and doesn't do just didn't really make sense for his character. Considering he's a piece of crap, I just feel like he could have been worse. But for someone just getting into dark romance, his crappiness is probably at a good level as it's not too intense. The pacing at the end seemed to be a bit rushed for me, I think the ending could have started earlier in the book to allow it to be more fleshed out.

I'm giving this book a 3.5 for the overall story and 1.5-2 chili peppers for spice. I do tend to read darker romance so what I consider spicy could be different on how someone else rates spice.
There are 2 descriptive smut scenes that don't have any hardcore kinks.
But for a first novel, I think Vy Le did a great job and I'll keep an eye out for future books.
