Folsom Untold: The Strange True Story of Johnny Cash's Greatest Album by Danny Robins

2.0

This is an Audible Audiobook, and it interested me because of the subject. My biggest criticism is not in the material (which could have been batter), but in the style of delivery. There is a significant difference to me between a book, even when read and listened to in audio format, and an audio documentary. In a book, the author shapes things through their writing. Quotes must be inserted in such a way as to fit that style. This lacked any of that "authorial" voice, and came across much more like an audio editing project than a book.

I will undoubtedly come to remember this as a mildly interesting podcast, and not a good book.
