It felt like this book hit every facet of my personality…there were TTRPGs, MMORGs, theater kids, football, a highly competent teen who doesn’t understand her peers…needless to say, I loved it. The writing was so careful and lovingly specific. The author did not shy away from showing how Vi would get in her own way, judging other people for not approaching situations the same way she would and cutting off anyone who wronged her even slightly, but also how that came from a place of deep sensitivity and self-protectiveness. I especially loved the relationship between Vi and Sebastian, showing that you can be very different people and still love each other unconditionally. Also a beautiful use of diversity in both the main and supporting cast. I think everyone should read this book but especially anyone who enjoys Shakespeare reinterpretation or general nerdy YA.
