Fifty Shades of Grey by E.L. James

3.0

To be quite honest, I went into reading this with preconceived notions about what happened in this book and I was really quite wrong.

Sure there are still some things I was right about, like how it doesn't portray an accurate and well executed Dominate and Submissive relationship, but I have to say, the only time he ever does anything to her that she doesn't want done to her is once and even then she asked him to do it, initially. That was the spanking with the belt.

In every single wording about their sexual encounters, her mind and body are wanton for him and she shows that. Nowhere in those sexual encounters, even when he has sex with her when she's on her period, she is okay with that. Nowhere during that entire scene does she yell or say the word "no". That has been grossly mis-portrayed. Yes, the sex scenes are steamy and no I don't believe anyone should ever enter into a relationship with a man like Christian Grey.

He's destructive and using Anastasia's words, "a major control-freak". That right there is qualifications for an unhealthy and mentally abusive relationship. At the end she walks away from him, which I internally cheer for even though she feels pain about it.

Yes, there is a lot not wonderful about this book, but the sex was good and nowhere was the sex non-consensual. So haters can hate, but show me some concrete proof, and I mean take the physical book with highlights and underlines and show me where it says something so terrible.

So, last regards, if reading this kind of thing isn't for you, some advice "Don't pick up and read the f**king book".
