The Yellow Room by Jess Vallance

3.0

So this was a slow book to begin with but because it's so short I didn't mind the pacing. I found that Anna was an incredibly lonely character who seemed to have false friends and hardly a connection to her mother at all! Enter Edie. I love Edie since she just wants that connection too, even if she is slightly strange. She is my favourite character in the book.
The plot took what felt like forever to move along but I was so happy that there was a shock in there. I think maybe the book needs a new title because we don't see the yellow room until like 3 quarters of the way in!
Jess Vallance really knows how to mess up your expectations and shock you. I love her writing and felt her characters need for a connection or a bit of TLC.
