This was a good short, yet tragic book, twllimg a story of a maid and her time and her service to the Queen-In-Waiting Princess Caution, who's will and actions lead to a tragic end. Yet I hated how the maid's mother used and abused her in her bid to put her grandson on the throne. Yet I loved how her scheme was completely thwarted but I did feel sorry for how it effected the maid.
The next part was mainly about how she raised both her and Princess Caution's son, Prince Charger. This was then when the story focused upon them and their story was filled with such injustice that it made my blood boil. Yet at the twist at the end just so satisfying to read. When you come to it you will know why.
