Okay, I admit it ... it needed quite some time for this book to grow on me. And here's why:

If I'd have to describe the plot in one sentence it'd be;
  two students of two different magicians have to compete against each other and there is a circus which opens at night and maaaaannnny other characters.
  And whatever a person would expect after reading that or the text on the back of the book - it would most likely not be anywhere near the actual book.

When I started reading I had no clue what was happening for at least the first 150 pages (probably more).
   There are many beautiful scenes with much love to detail and the vibes are simply immaculate. Also, the plot twists really catch you off guard.
   However, the pace of the book is very slow, there are many characters & perspectives, places and also many different times in which the novel is set in, which can become a bit confusing.

Overall, I personally loved it but I'd recommend everyone who wants to read The Night Circus:
Take your time to enjoy the details & writing. If you don't, you might loose interest in the novel.
