A cute romance about high school sweethearts following their dreams together.
High school sweethearts Dylan and Hailey have been living on opposite sides of the country for way too long. Hailey has been attending university in California, working her way through her Bachelors ahead of getting into Med-School, meanwhile Dylan has just signed with the Indianapolis Eagles, giving him his first taste of the NHL. They’re both pursuing their dreams and are 100% supportive of one another. But when they are finally reunited once Hailey’s semester finishes, they realise that they don’t want to keep living in different states and time zones. As Hailey makes herself part of Dylan’s world and the Indianapolis Eagles family, plans start being put into motion to make Indianapolis their first home together.
Well this was a cute and sweet little romance read! It was nice to follow an established couple from the get-go and follow them through to their happy ending. It certainly makes a nice change from the majority of romances where the couple isn’t together at the beginning and we spend most of the book following their progression to an actual relationship.
In saying that, it was a little boring. Everything with just happy and positive with Dylan and Hailey, so there was no drama or conflict to keep you invested in their story. It took me a while to get into the story, and then it felt like it dragged on because it was clear that there wasn’t going to be anything to really test their relationship.
It was a fun little romance, but it was certainly lacking, especially if you’re a romance fan that craves the drama that tests our couple. I definitely want to go back and catch up on the rest of the books in this series – the little recaps of some of the previous couples were good little teasers for those who haven’t read the prior instalments.
