Cemetery Boys by Aiden Thomas

The ending of this book had me weeping. Overall I throughly enjoyed this, it’s full of emotion and angst, a beautiful blend of culture and tradition with magic and paranormal romance. My only semi complaint is I found the middle chunk to drag on slightly. We get to read deeply into Yadriel’s frustration and rumination which is fantastic throughout most of the book but towards the middle was the only time I found myself longing for a little more forward moving action. All that being said, it was so heartening to read a YA novel with a queer & trans MC. Not only does the story honour a culture and a lived experienced but it also holds up separately as a creative concept. Such a lovely read!
