Sometimes Cassie's books are weird. Sometimes, they're intense filled with violence and some moral-questioning. This was one of those books.

The Secret had the infamous termite scene and it was...just as horrible as I remembered it. Man, the horror and the panic-inducing sequence was enough to give me some goosebumps. This book has tons of conflicts and paradoxes as we go through the laws of nature, prey vs predator and how that applies to humanity. Honestly, I am just not that big-brained to go through it. However, Cassie is.

So, hats off to KA Applegate and Cassie here.
