I did not really enjoy reading this book. For the majority of it the mystery element is not very actively investigated by the characters. I didn’t really engage with their connection and found the racism and sexism explored to be a frustrating roadblock that seems insurmountable while not really being the point of the book. I really wanted to like this book and would love to hear another reading of it! I just didn’t have fun.
