A story that is beautiful, devastating and full of wonder. The twists and turns of the Allbright family and their survival in the great alone blended a coming of age story with adventure and survival in Alaska. Survival can come with a cost both physically and mentally. Lenora/Leni’s perspective is primarily followed throughout the book but timely additions of other characters perspectives are added in perfectly in this book. The vivid imagery of multiple seasons and settings are tastefully made in this epic read.
