Cupcakes, Trinkets, and Other Deadly Magic, by Meghan Ciana Doidge

3.0

A bit boring in places (I seriously almost gave up on the book when the protagonist was talking about her cupcake recipies and describing her apartment), and I figured out who the villain was along with their motivation pretty early on, so it was pretty frustrating watching the protagonist bumble about without a clue. I kept reading though (or listening - I had the audio book) because the mystery about the protagonists actual magical abilities kept me intrigued. Not sure if I want to continue with the second book in the series to find out more though.
