When I'm lost, you light the way.
When I'm down, you lift me up.
My life is full because of you.
Friend. Lover. Wife. Beautiful mother.
A partner in this life we're building.
When you need me, I'll be there to hold you.
Support you. Encourage you.
Find you when you're lost.
Lift you up when you're down.
No obstacles are too hard for us to conquer together.
I am forever and always yours.

Oh my gosh! I loved getting Desmond and Sadie's story!

Similar to E and Delilah's story, this definitely had a dose of dealing-with-an-asshole-who-ruined-our-first-chance. But I liked the way that yeah they had that alike but at the same time, it was two very different relationships. And not just with the addition of Max.

Des was great although I will admit that I was a little confused about the cover up until the end. And then I was a little disappointed because he didn't really grovel all that much. Like overall, he didn't really have any groveling to do because while he left previously, it wasn't his fault. And once he broke his anti-puking streak and ended up back in Ruby Grove, he was all in on spending time with Sadie and Max and figuring out a life with them. I will admit that the end when he started pushing Sadie for the job is where the groveling really needed to come in and while he definitely got the kick in the pants he needed, I felt like we did need more groveling. Yeah, he did finally talk to Sadie and acknowledge things but I guess I wanted more, especially with the title.

Sadie was interesting and while I was glad that she didn't have any anger at Des over things, I also felt like the author maybe couldn't decide if she wanted to have this be more of a will they/won't they or just jumping straight back in. I did like that Sadie didn't say Des couldn't be involved in Max's life, but she did ask that they think about Max before jumping into things completely.

I loved the way Des was with Max. Not just as he got to know him and the whole finding out that he was a dad thing but also with the potential of "is my kid gay" that they had going on. He didn't push, just took the cues from Max once he was able to find the topics Max liked. Olivia was hilarious and I loved how she'd see through Des and spout off a fact that would often make him stop in his tracks.

Can't wait to read Lennon and Maggie's book and see why they both hit the dirt whenever the other is mentioned!
