The Vincent Boys by Abbi Glines

2.0

This book is wrong in so many ways. It isn't the writing or the love triangle that I am referring to. The characters are judgmental and awful. Ash the protagonist refers to herself as having a good side which is the "perfect" version of her and her bad side which is everything else. It was very annoying and unrealistic. The book and the activities within it were so degrading to young women that it made me want to throw the thing across the room.

There was this big deal about the football players having their own spirit girls who the guys get to choose like cuts of meat at the butcher shop. The "lucky" ladies get to dote on the players' every needs. It is disgusting. They don't go into huge details about it but the idea is gross and unnecessary. Same with the unnecessary teen sex.

I also hated how fragile the main character was that she didn't mind guys fighting her battles for her and being possessive over her. She actually thought it was attractive along with having a guy attack another teen for making a pass at her. It is brutish and I was not a fan.

I am not going to read the second one and I feel like I wasted my time on this. I am not sure why it had some many good rating. I suppose if you could see past all of the offensive behavior and content you get an annoying love triangle that some people appreciate.
