Eine Frau in Berlin, by Marta Hillers

4.0

Even though I'm German I have to admit that I don't know too much about how the Russian Army overtook (East) Berlin. What I liked most about this book was that it showed the point of view of a woman living in Berlin at that time, since mostly you read journals from that time written by men. The book is very well written and even though the events in the books are really shocking, I'm glad I read it to help me understand what it was like back then for women.
