Hiroshima by John Hersey

challenging emotional informative medium-paced

5.0

This was destined to be intense. Not only does the author describe the actual bombing of Hiroshima but the lack of information, medical care, and government assistance following the event. By following the story of a few of the survivors, the reader can see the long-term effects on the survivors and their descendants. The writing is very basic. The author leaves the drama to the bombing, effects of radiation, and perseverance of the Japanese people.
