The World Record Book of Racist Stories by Lacey Lamar, Amber Ruffin

informative lighthearted reflective fast-paced

5.0

The audiobook edition is excellent. It's read by the authors and has lots of little bonus nuggets.

It feels wrong to say the words "funny" and "racism" but here goes: this is a funny, engaging and thought-provoking book about racism.

If you're white, like me, you may cringe at some of the stories and think that might have been you once when you were younger and dumber and less aware of everything. You may also reflect a bit more on the privileges your life affords you. And you'll also laugh along with the authors, because life is best enjoyed when you can laugh.

Sometimes it takes both funny books and serious books to make a point. This is one to add to that list.
