As a long time lover of Princess Bride, this was such a great story. It's not often that a book makes me actually laugh out loud, and this one did multiple times. I love Tress, the world building, the style of writing, and the third party narrator being someone unconventional. I'm thrilled Sanderson is branching out.
This book was concise and extremely fun. As much as I enjoy Mistborn, I also recognize that it's far too long and slow for most people. This will appeal to those who don't have the patience for epic and political fantasies. His ability to blend science with magic is masterful and works extremely well in this adult fairytale format. I'm very excited for the other standalone books in this series.
