Broken HomesGardens by Rebecca Kelley

4.0

A book that really gets that stage of some women's life where they're looking for something good but getting tripped up by all the skeletons in their closet...
This novel has recognizable, real characters muddling their way through love and its lookalikes, and I was deeply invested in Joanna, the main character, making it through! The mother came off a little sketchy, and the gardening theme may have needed a source, but otherwise a really strong story, and new fictional friends for life.
SPOILER ALERT: Gah! I accept that that's where she left it, but I want to see a sequel, so I can have hope for my own muddle! ;)
