Eclipse by Erin Hunter

5.0

The stakes are HIGH in this book - they were raised all of a sudden, when I wasn't expecting it... and actually when I was starting to question where the plot was going. For the first time in the series there was a portion reading this where I was utterly and completely engrossed in what was going on. This feeling kind of dwindled out towards the end, but I think with the end of this the Warriors universe has started to feel big... like when you thought you kind of understood where everyone was standing but now there are a million more things to discover. The characters feel this too, especially Hollyleaf and Lionblaze, and I remain passionately in love with the three siblings and their individual personalities.

There was someone who made a YouTube video not too long ago about how the Warriors series is unrealistic because there was no gossip, but there was plenty of that in this book. I guess I really don't know what they mean. Warriors continues to shoot any doubt I have around it straight through the heart. Maybe I do have my expectations a little too high, but right now I can say for sure Eclipse satisfied me in a way I was not expecting, and I am very excited for Long Shadows.
