Secluded Cabin Sleeps Six by Lisa Unger

3.0

3.5 stars

Apparently, Secluded Cabin Sleeps Six was not my first Lisa Unger read. My first was Ink and Bone back in October 2018, but I have zero recollection of the book. Even after reading the Goodreads plot summary, my mind is blank.

Unger really likes the words "fecund" and "ebullient", using each several times throughout the book. And "slut" was hurled 2-3 times, although the main character winces and "mentions" slut-shaming.

There is a good deal of body image talk and general body talk. This is the vehicle by which Unger describes her characters, most of which are hot-hot-hot.

The base concept (DNA testing) is very interesting, and while there were some cringe-y moments, I vacillated between liking the story and really liking it. So... what do I rate it? Three stars? Four stars? I really wish that Goodreads offered a 1/2-star option.
